The Studios at Carolina Forest Performing Arts Academy were designed and built specifically for the Academy’s needs, from the high ceilings to accommodate partner work to the expansive lobby to encourage parental engagement. Owned by us,  our structure is a spacious 10,000 sq. foot facility located conveniently off Highway 501, between Conway and Myrtle Beach, SC. We have four large dance studios, two of which stand at 2.000 square feet. They are equipped with sprung flooring covwered with marley, theatrical lighting, and professional sound equipment of the highest rating. Due to the studio’s ability to accommodate up to 16 performers on live mics simultaneously, CFPAA has been the rehearsal home to Spirit Productions and the Palace Theater, Gilmore Entertainment and the Carolina Opry, PG Productions and High Steppin’ Country, Forestbrook Middle School, and Carolina Forest High School’s national award-winning Show Choirs and musicals. CFPAA is also outfitted with a Music Studio, with the capability of offering an additional Music Room, complete with both upright and electric pianos, guitars, and more.

CFPAA has a large lobby that far surpasses industry standard and that includes  microwaves, vending machines, TV, free wifi, ample table-top space, endless cubbies for student storage, and an array of seating options to choose from. Our six year young home also includes separate boys' and girls' dressing rooms and separate mens and womens restrooms, complete with granite counter tops, bright lighting, and eclectic artwork. We also house a Retail Space that can accomodate all dance wear and shoe needs, an impressive Costume Room that houses hundreds of costumes that can outfit full-scale, professional productions, a Little Library, Staff Break Room and Bathroom, two offices, Merchandise Room, and a Front Desk area polished off with beautiful granite countertops.

But by far the most important, and most costly investment made when CFPAA was built were the studio floors. Dance is a very physical activity that requires jumping and rebounding that can put stress on a dancer’s joints and lower back. The best way to prevent potential injury is to provide  professional “sprung-flooring”. CFPAA has four dance studios with state-of-the-art sprung floors, and studies show that a sprung floor with marley is the #1 type of flooring for children and young adults to dance on - it is the least damaging to their developing bodies. Dancers will have more years to dance and less injuries and issues as they advance throughout the years. A “marley” floor is accepted worldwide as the best surface layer for recreational and professional dance. World renowned dance institutions such as The Boston Ballet; The Royal Academy of Dance in London, England; and the Riverdance Touring Show, all use marley floors. A marley floor allows dancer to slide with a degree of “controlled” slip, thus reducing the risk of spills and falls. Because of their expense, very few dance studios use professional marley floors, and opt for a regular floor tile for a dance surface. To Director and Co-Owner Bryan Beaman, mandated that this flooring be the single most important element when Phoenix Construction was building CFPAA.

We encourage you to drop in to tour the facility and get a feel for how we could be you and your child’s perfect home away from home. In an effort to give you our full attention, we suggest calling ahead to schedule a time to tour the facility, meet the co-owners, and find out why CFPAA has been named Best Dance Studio year after year.
